Tongwynlais - ''Castell Coch in Fforest Fawr''

Medium: Graphite on Paper       Ref: KWA49/GOP

Castell Coch is an iconic landmark in Tongwynlais and much observed by artists and photographers as well as being employed by both programme and filmmakers. It is a gothic revival folly designed and rebuilt by the 'eccentric genius' William Burgess in 1875 for the fabulously wealthy 3rd Marquess of Bute - John Crichton-Stuart. This is not the most recorded view but as the light comes through the forest on the south-west side, it really is the most magical view of the castle.
